This goes back to the basis of My Digital Footprint (what is a digital footprint?) and ideals that I have just been exploring about controlling data…

Question: - What is the origin of data?

Data can originate from ….

  • Devices that you carry
  • Devices that you interact with
  • Networks that carry your data
  • Networks you access
  • Places you pass
  • Places you access
  • People you pass
  • Data you create about yourself
  • Data you create about others
  • Data others create about you
  • Data captured by others about you
  • Data from interactions

And then there is data that describes your data and data that is the analysis of your data -

Therefore “everyone and everything in the community is a senor”

Question – Given that we cannot control origination or sharing; if you are a sensor should you capture data based on what you believe (set as a preference) or based on what the person you are capturing data about believes (sets as a preference) -
