This is an update to all of our contacts so apologies if this is not totally relevant to the day job, it is still worth reading.

12 months ago we (Ande Gregson and Tony Fish) found ourselves in agreement that London continues to support web oriented companies and remains one of the hottest cities in the world when it comes to setting up and growing a software oriented business. But the new and emerging hardware and product trend is different: it needed somewhere get that first prototype working.

On the 19th September we opened the doors of Fab Lab London, a creative workspace and hardware prototyping lab. Based at 1 Fredrick`s Place, London, EC2R 8AE, we are located just 90 seconds from Bank station (Exit 1).
We would love to see you at the Fab Lab London so please do drop in if you'd like to learn more about the maker movement. Or just to make some of your own stuff!
Open days are Fridays, but we're here pretty much all of the time…

What is Fab Lab London?

We are a purpose built digital fabrication and rapid prototyping workspace providing the very latest in small scale digital and traditional fabrication equipment (including CNC milling, laser cutting and engraving, 3D scanning, 3D printing and more).

This is combined in the lab with the use of computing, electronics and platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Spark, Galileo, Edison, Lilypad and others to help you create a sustainable product from your idea. Our purpose is to give you the skills you need so that you can create something for yourself, and there are lots of helpers here to assist.

You're only limited by your imagination.

We are part of a unique ecosystem and are linked up with two other charities. Bathtub2Boardroom and Escape the City. B2B is an incubator who helps early stage companies grow, they are not fixated on exits, silly valuations or finding the next Google. Escape helps people in the city discover purpose and will help you move from a job to a calling, which could be building a product in fab lab which has solves a problem and growing a business in B2B.

You are receiving this because at some point you had an interaction with Tony Fish or Ande Gregson or one of their companies. If you are interested please drop in and see what is going on for yourself.
